I grew up in a little town called Imphal in the North-East region of India. Little did I know that I would grow up to have lived in Chennai, Delhi and Bengaluru in India and then move to the United Kingdom.

After a blurry one year in Leeds (more on that later), I found myself living in Bristol for a short time and then in London. Following my heart, I made the biggest decision to leave my life in London and move to Dubai. I would never know if life would have been better in London but what I do know is that I am ever so grateful to call Dubai my home.

Building on the vision of H.H Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the much revered current leaders – H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan,The UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi; H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Makhtoum,The UAE Vice President & Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces are steering the country to great heights.

As we celebrate the National Day, it just occurred to me that at least 80% of the population are expatriates. For a country with so many expatriates, there is an astounding feeling of patriotism and love for the nation. This country is relentless in its quest to become better – to be the best. I have a feeling that we are in for a real treat.
